| EAGLES OF AMERICA SWEEPSTAKES: Q & A |
PROMOTIONAL & DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT:
Q: When can I enter the EOA Rare Coin Trading Card Sweepstakes?
A: The Sweepstakes starts when Series 1 is released. (Date unknown.) As soon as cards are available in thousands of stores people will start winning prizes.
* * * SERIES 1 HAS NOT YET BEEN PUBLISHED * * *
Q: Do I have to buy Rare Coin Trading Cards to win prizes?
A: No. You can win prizes by mailing in entries to our Sweepstakes. However, there will be a limit on the number of entries that can be mailed in whereas there is no limit on how many packs of cards you can buy. Buying more cards will increase your chances of winning. In addition, every pack of cards contains a genuine Mint Condition 1930's to 1970's Lincoln Cent (housed in a collectible "Lucky Penny" card). These pennies may be worth under $1.00, or they may be worth hundreds or thousands of dollars. There is no way to collect these rare coins except by buying Rare Coin Trading Cards.
Q: What other reasons do I have to collect Rare Coin Trading Cards?
A: Winning Prize Cards is only part of the fun and excitement of collecting EOA Rare Coin Trading Cards. Through these beautiful cards you can build a complete collection of all U.S. coins from 1652 to 1776, including many coins that cost over $1,000,000 apiece in today's market. When you buy a pack of 10 cards, you may win a valuable prize. But you also get 8 rare coin trading cards featuring Bust Half Dimes to Silver Dollars (highlighted by the 1794 and 1804), a complete set of U.S. Type Coins including Gold Coins (1795 to 1933 + the 1787 Brasher Dubloon), every St. Gaudens $10 Gold Eagle and $20 Double Eagle and hundreds of other 18th, 19th & 20th Century U.S. Coins --- plus 1 of 100 different Bonus Cards. It's a real challenge to collect the whole series. Some cards are rare. Trade with friends to get what you need. If you are a serious coin collector, Rare Coin Trading Cards will bring you many hours (and days) of pleasure. And these cards are the same size as baseball cards (2-1/2" x 3-1/2") so they fit in all standard albums and vinyl pages.
Q: How do I actually "win" and receive Sweepstakes prizes?
A: When this series is launched (date unknown), complete rules and conditions of the EOA Prize Card Sweepstakes will be posted on this website. Some trading cards may contain actual prizes. Other prizes (like the 3 Grand Prizes) must be obtained by following instructions to mail in (redeem) winning cards with your name, address and phone number. Sweepstakes redemption will be administered by a company specializing in Sweepstakes, and will be in compliance with the laws and regulations of all 50 States.
Q: What are the odds of winning a prize?
A: When Series 1 is released (date unknown) the Exact odds of winning prizes will be printed on the foil packaging as well as on this website. Overall, there will be 10,000 prizes. Out of 1,000,000 packs of cards, the overall odds of winning a prize are therefore 100 to 1. In other words, there will be an average of one prize winner per 100 packs of cards. However, in every pack of cards you will "win" a Lucky and / or Rare Lincoln Cent, a mint condition coin from the 1930's to the 1970's. In order to enhance the excitement of the Sweepstakes, we may decide to include a larger number of scratch-off Prize Cards.

Q: Who is sponsoring the EOA Sweepstakes? A: The EOA Sweepstakes is sponsored by N.Y. Times bestselling authors Les and Sue Fox, owners of Eagles Of America / West Highland Fine Art & Publishing, LLC. The Foxes are fully responsible for managing all aspects of this Sweepstakes. (For more information about the Foxes see our "About Us" page or visit other websites such as Amazon.com and Google.) The EOA concept was not developed by The Upper Deck Company who makes no claims with respect to the possible future publication of Series 1.
Q: Are all coins in the Sweepstakes guaranteed genuine?
A: Yes. All coins in the EOA Sweepstakes are certified and graded by PCGS (the Professional Coin Grading Service) or NGC (Numismatic Guaranty Corp.) Please visit the PCGS and NGC websites (or Google) for more information about these established leaders in the field of rare coin authentication.
Q: Which rare coins can I win in the EOA Sweepstakes?
A: Reminder: Everything you see on this website is in the design and development stage. You can win a PCGS certified MS63 1907 High Relief $20 Gold Double Eagle, a PCGS certified MS65 1875-1878 U.S. Trade Dollar and a PCGS certified 1799-1801 Bust Dollar (minimum grade PCGS AU-55 PQ). You can also win 1 of hundreds of certified Silver Dollars (1878-1935) and St. Gaudens $20 Gold Double Eagles (1908-1928). The dates and grades of these coins (MS63 to MS65) will be announced when Series 1 is published (Date unknown.) Other rare coins may be included in the Sweepstakes.
Q: Besides rare coins, what other prizes can I win?
A: When Series 1 is published (still in the development stage) you can also win an all-expenses paid vacation (family of 4) to the Smithsonian Institute (National Museum) in Washington, D.C. We had hoped to offer a tour of the Smithsonian's National Coin Collection. However, the numismatic exhibition area of the museum is currently in the process of change. Some rare coins may be on display. However, it is likely that the entire collection, or major portions of the collection, will not be on display for a few years, or may be on display at other locations such as the American Numismatic Association coin museum in Colorado Springs, Colorado. (Note: We may be able to offer the winner of this vacation prize a special numismatic tour, or the option to take a vacation (and coin tour) in Colorado Springs as an alternative.)
PROMOTIONAL & DEVELOPMENT CONCEPT:
Q: Can I also win "autographs" in the EOA Sweepstakes?
A: Yes, You can win the original, hand-signed autographs of two former U.S. Presidents, George H.W. Bush and Gerald R. Ford. In 2001 and 2002, these Presidents personally authorized us to encapsulate their autographs (on special cards) with (150) PCGS certified 1976 U.S. Bicentennial Silver Proof Sets, (500) 1986-W U.S. $50 Gold Eagle Proofs and (500) 1992-W White House Commemorative U.S. Silver Dollar Proofs. Almost all of these coins have been sold to private collectors, dealers and investors. A small quantity has been reserved by Les and Sue Fox for the EOA Sweepstakes. (Ask your favorite coin dealer to help you find these coins if you are interested in buying them.)
Q: Can I win the original autographs of the U.S. Bicentennial coin artists?
A: Yes. The EOA Sweepstakes includes trading cards (and PCGS certified coins) which have been personally autographed by Jack L. Ahr, Seth G. Huntington and Dennis R. Williams, designers of the 1976 U.S. Bicentennial coins. EOA / West Highland Publishing has an exclusive autograph agreement with these 3 artists, whose initials appear on more than 2 billion U.S. coins. (JLA, SGH and DRW.) Visit Google for more details. (Note: PCGS Certified Autographed 1976 Bicentennial Coins are also available from Authorized EOA distributors and dealers. Please contact us for further information.)
Q: Will there be more EOA Rare Coin Sweepstakes in the future?
A: We hope to offer a Rare Coin Sweepstakes as part of each new Series of EOA Rare Coin Trading Cards. (Publication dates unknown at this time.) "Series 1" is only the Inaugural Edition of Rare Coin Trading Cards. There are over 10,000 different U.S. coins (including all dates and mint-marks) and we expect to produce a trading card for every single coin. We do not yet know when Series 2 will be released, but that information will be posted on this website when available.
Q: Can I also buy coins from Eagles Of America?
A: No. While rare coin experts Les and Sue Fox have worked with a small number of private clients over the years they are now focusing their attention to promoting numismatics to coin collectors. Eagles Of America is not a coin dealership. It is part of West Highland Fine Art & Publishing, LLC. The Foxes currently promote and recommend many highly respected rare coin dealers, including the dealers whose names appear on this website. We strongly recommend that you contact your local or favorite dealer for advice and assistance in collecting or investing in U.S. coins. EOA Rare Coin Trading Cards and the EOA Sweepstakes are designed to stimulate interest in numismatics and the wonderful hobby of coin collecting. Through the information and education imparted by these beautiful cards we believe that millions of new collectors may enter the hobby and join the American Numismatic Association (chartered by Congress in 1891).
